Hey, I’m Travis Nicolaysen.

And before we talk about mortgages, you should probably know a little about the person you’d be trusting with one of the biggest financial decisions of your life.
I’m a Dad first.
My son, Austin, is 14½ and heading into his freshman year of high school. My daughter, Alayna, is 11 and starting middle school. Somehow, they keep growing up faster every year, and I’m doing my best to soak it all in.
When I’m not working with clients, you’ll usually find me spending time with my kids at the lake or pool, playing in my golf league, traveling, or trying to figure out how I can become a little better—both personally and for the people I serve.
Why Mortgages?
I’ve been in the mortgage business since 2009, and after all these years, my favorite part has never really been the mortgage.
It’s the people behind it.
Everyone has a story.
Maybe you’re buying your first home and have no idea where to start.

Maybe your credit isn’t where you want it to be.
Maybe you’re worried you don’t have enough money for a down payment or closing costs.

Whatever brought you here, don’t disqualify yourself before we have a conversation.
I’ve worked with enough families and heard enough stories to know that what someone thinks is possible and what is actually possible can be two very different things.
Sometimes the answer is, “Yes, you can buy now.”
Sometimes it’s, “Not quite yet, but here’s exactly what we need to do.”
And sometimes buying isn’t the best move at all.
I’m comfortable telling you any of those things.
Because my job isn’t to convince you to get a mortgage.
My job is to help you make a decision you’ll still feel good about years from now.
What can you expect from me?

You’ll understand what’s happening and why.
You’ll have someone who takes your questions seriously—even the ones you think you “should already know.”
And you’ll have someone who genuinely cares about getting you to the closing table the right way, not just getting another loan closed.

But I’m still just Travis.
I’m a Dad of two kids who are growing up way too quickly. Life isn't easy and it throws me a curve ball every day. I’ve had great seasons in life and difficult ones. I understand that life doesn’t always fit neatly into a mortgage application.
That perspective matters to me.
Your income, credit score, and bank statements tell me the numbers. They don’t tell me your story.
That part comes from a conversation.
